Going Round Britain
After repairing the wiring for the radio on Zapcat 2 and fitting the new modified throttle cables we eventually got moving at lunch time, A quick radio call to inform Coast Guard of our intended passage and we are heading off for Mallaig as first stop, about 10 miles in Zapcat 2 started to suffer with fuel starvation and then later after about another 10 miles we had it cut out completely, it had lost one of the vacuum pipe connections, we informed the land crew that they would have to re route to Mallaig to fit new fuel pump diaphragms and re place the swollen vacuum pipe, once again the RNLI were second to none offering their services to enable us to berth and carry out repairs, Phill quickly took care of this and we were heading off to Kyle of Loch Alsh,
on the way we had a short stop to investigate some seals but i think it was us that were being investigated .Mike had organised with the harbour master for us to berth on the floating pontoon and the plan was for us to meet up with Sunny, he has flown up to Inverness and Tim Clifford had kindly offered to drop him over to us, as we approached
Tim and Sunny were on the harbour waiting, we got tied up and headed off to find a camp site for the evening, after a quick dinner and a beer Tim got off on his way home with a 2 hour drive in front of him we got settled in for the night and plotted tomorrows passage as the weather is still looking average, Sunny will be taking over as pilot for Zapcat 2.
